It has been a while since our last update — this is Kyushu University Cat Club.
Today, we would like to talk about the “TNR activities” that our club is currently working on, as well as recruit outside volunteers who are willing to support these activities.
First, we would like to explain the background behind why the Kyushu University Cat Club began TNR activities.
Currently, many stray cats live around Kyushu University’s Ito Campus. For a long time, there have been discussions within the university about whether it would be possible to properly manage the stray cats living on campus. In response to this, our club started working on TNR activities (Trap, Neuter, Return) for the campus cats in order to create an environment where both people and cats can coexist peacefully.
However, as we continued these activities, we began to face a variety of challenges.
For example:
• Hygiene issues around dining halls• Environmental problems caused by cat waste• Difficulty in identifying and monitoring all the cats across the vast Ito Campus
• Securing funds for spay and neuter surgeries
• A shortage of people to provide regular feeding and monitoring
These are just some of the many issues we are currently facing.
In particular, Ito Campus is extremely large, and it is difficult for the Cat Club alone to fully manage and keep track of all the cats on campus. In order for us to continue these activities in the future, we need the help and support of more people.
Therefore, we are currently looking for volunteers who would like to support the activities of the Kyushu University Cat Club.
“If you love cats,”“If you want to help in some way,”or “If you are interested in TNR activities,”
we would be very happy to have you join us.
If you would like to participate as a volunteer, please apply using the QR code located in the lower-right corner of the poster below.
Even a small contribution can make a big difference. We sincerely appreciate your support in helping create a safer and more comfortable environment for the cats living at Kyushu University.
